I’m not sure if installing cabinets then deconstructing them in order to paint them is normal procedure or if my contractor just doesn’t believe in the principals of scientific management.
Either way, it’s just disturbing. One day, you have this beautiful kitchen that you think is maybe 80% done. The next, you’re back to a pile of doors, drawers, and glides.
I’m told that the entire process takes 5 days. 5 DAYS!?! Watching them I can understand why. So far, they’ve covered the floor with paper (I can’t tell you how much I want to turn Aaric and Kieran loose with some crayons…), they’ve removed all of the doors, drawers and hardware, and they’ve caulked every nook and cranny in the cabinets. It’s crazy. Seriously… crazy.
I’m not sure what to expect tomorrow, but I’m sure it will be surprising.
