Because I meddled…
Because of the condition of the original heart pine there was only so much that could be saved – which meant we have a whole pile of “new” reclaimed heart pine to supplement the old.
Problem is, the “new” stuff is a little different with regards to width and patina.
Originally I was just gonna have the old stuff put in the kitchen and foyer and the new put in the living room.
I thought about it a while and decided that would still not be that great seeing as you would immediately notice the difference which I’m not a fan of.
So I meddled…
Now the kitchen will have an old floor with “new wood inlay rugs”.
It’s taken the floor guys about 4 hours to lay all of about 20 pieces so far… Let’s just hope it’s a learning curve…
