Happy Easter !
As expected in the Patzel household, this holiday is a multi-day split family affair. We went to the Dinosaur Egg Hunt at Fernbank Museum on Saturday followed by an evening flight to Brunswick to spend some time at the beach.
The Egg Hunt on Saturday was a riot. Despite two days of egg hunting practice in the backyard, Aaric only managed to pick up one egg to put in his basket – it was not due to a lack of eggs or time.
Seems that our practice sessions were missing the excitment that comes with dozens of kids running out onto a field with Radio Disney music blasting in the background. He was so excited about all of the eggs and all the kids that he spent precious seconds jumping for joy, pointing at all of the quickly disappearing eggs, and in waving at us to come join him on the field. Only after screaming at him to pick up an egg and put it in his basket did he actually do it (yes, I was momentarily THAT parent).
Despite only having one egg he was happy (which was not what I would have ever expected,) it made me pround that he was okay with just the one. Ultimately, the volunteers hooked him up with a few more after getting in a few giggles on his performance – a couple of them chatted with him prior to the hunt and were really surprised that he only managed the one.
A big thanks to MomMom for the matching outfits!
And of course what’s a holiday without some sand in your hair, between your toes, down your shorts, in your mouth and (if you ar Kieran) hidden inside you thigh rolls…
