Hanging out on the equator…

Need a vacation.

Wanna test your family treshold for spontaneity?

Then how about Ecuador for the weekend?

That’s right. We went to Quito… for the weekend. Best part, pulling out your youngest child’s passport day of departure and seeing that he has only 6 months left on it.

For those more prepared then us, you’ll know that many countries require AT MINIMUM 6 months of validity for entry into a country. Some require it from date of entry, some from date of departure.

Well, sadly we had no idea which option Ecuador might choose to enforce and going to Ecuador only to turn around was a frightening prospect SO Robb got to spend the morning trying to find out which rule was in play BUT seems we hit on a national holiday… FUN…

Luckily, after a few stressful hours our hotel concierge came through. He was able to reach someone at customs and border control and was able to determine that our 4 yr old would not be turned away. Whew.  Thank you Hilton!

So onward to Quito!
