So yesterday, over dinner, Robb told me about a dress making the news. Yes, a dress. This one as a matter of fact.
So for those of you who are not familiar with the story associated with this dress it goes a bit like this:
Seems it all started when a young lady shared the image of the dress above with some friends and found that not everyone saw the dress the same way. One thing led to another and, well, the picture made it to the world wide web with the question, “what color is this dress?” Simple right? Not so much. It seems that depending on who you are, and how your eyes and brain process visual information that the answer will be different. So different in fact that the picture has gone viral and the dress has become a hot seller. Here are the responses to that question from around our dinner table.
Robb: White and Gold
Neha: White and Gold
Aaric: White and Gold
Kieran: Blue and Black
Normally, I would attribute Kieran’s answer to a severe lack of parental attention in the “teaching a kid his colors” department BUT turns out that he is RIGHT !!! Check out the picture below – if you see white and gold in the picture above like I do, it’s hard to believe that this is even remotely possible.
It’s a bit unnerving to think that my toddler may actually see the world differently then I do – what if I’ve been teaching him that his green is actually blue because that’s how I see it? Great, just what I needed, more “am I messing these little people up?” stress!
