12:11pm – Still waiting on the big move to the step down unit but in the meantime we’ve made one small move – right into a bouncer / vibrator – wires and all. They set it in his crib right on top of the mattress and we hoisted him in. I can’t claim he’s a ton happier, mostly he just wants the oxygen cannula out and keeps taking swipes, but we’re trying. I’m just waiting for a smile – I’ll take a smirk, gas or even smiley looking grimmace. In other news, blood pressure cooperating, he may be able to have his IJ pulled. For those not in the know – IJ is an internal jugular line – that’s right, just like an IV but smack dab in the neck. The IJ doesn’t look comfortable and the locks associated with it are right next to his ear (so that when he turns his head he ends up laying on them)… nothing like laying your head down on a nice big piece of hard plastic with knobs…
